I am so interested in positivity, execution, progress and results because I wasted valuable time of my life in negativity and trying to achieve my goals, but never achieving them because of negativity and worry. During this period of time, I was struggling to achieve results but I came to a situation where I decided that I must have a different way of thinking and a different perspective for life to have different results.

One of the things that helped me a lot in shifting my life from negativity to positivity is the way I deal with the critical assumptions and my false believes. Have you ever came to a situation where you strongly believe that you have a brilliant idea and you want to execute but you are stuck with the MAGICAL “BUT” where you say to yourself, this idea is brilliant BUT I don’t have the time to work on it, I don’t have enough money to do it, or I don’t have the talent or the skills to do it, Those are all critical assumptions. If they are truly TRUE, you should know how you are going to face them to achieve your goal and it they are FALSE, they are acting like a scarecrow, they are just holding you back from achieving your goal.

The critical assumptions are not only negative assumptions, they might be positive assumptions but still cause a failure to your goal or idea, as an example, if you are starting a business on top of a product and you assumed that you will be able to sell 10,000 unit in the first year, this is a good assumption, but what if it was wrong assumption, it means that your business failed before it started.

The best way to attack the critical assumptions is to write them down and start facing them one by one. Analyze them and try to have a clear evidence that this assumption is true or false. Analyzing the critical assumptions one by one give you power over them and give you the enough confidence before starting any idea.

All those who are working in the business field should study marketing to a certain level because we are all working to satisfy the needs of our customers so how do you expect to satisfy a need that you don't understand? Or whom are you trying to satisfy? those are the kind of important questions you need to ask yourself, if your answer is I am trying to satisfy everyone interested in my field then you have to start thinking again because in each business domain, people are different and have different needs to satisfy and you cannot satisfy everybody but you have to know your targeted clients, identify their needs and understand where in the client mind you want to expose your edges.

Why would I care about this if I am a normal employee in the company?

Because every little detail happening inside or outside the company is concerned with the client satisfaction in a way or another, as an example if the designers in apple don't understand that their targeted clients have a need to feel prestigious they will be designing the IPhone like any normal mobile device but because they understand this need they invest a lot of money and effort to be different than their competitors and they use their recognition to this need to market it in their advertising campaign so you should invest some money and effort to understand your targeted clients’ needs to be able to better satisfy them than the competitors, and this is how you can increase your market share and profit without having to lean on assumptions because most of the time they will not be accurate.

If you are very passionate about running your own business, have you ever stopped to ask yourself those simple -yet hard to answer- questions. Why do I have a business? Why am I making all this efforts to run the business? Is it worth? Why do I work?
These simple questions make you think about the real reason behind running a business, your purpose of existence. We all love/want to have a business but have you ever thought about how you are going to make your business last?

Your purpose of existence

Definitely you thought about big names that lasted for many years (100+) and asked yourself, how did they do that, how did they last for such long time, does it depend on a person? do they have a leader between them that made them make all this success? But how their success lasted for 100+ years. The answer is very simple, “Purpose of existence and core values”, they all have this in common.
If you want to build a business that last for a long time, you have to think about your purpose of existence, don’t think about the money or the resources, think about the value that you have and believe in and want to share with the world, and this is the very first step in your success. When your purpose of existence is clear in your mind and prominent in your life, you will find others having the same purpose of existence and they will be very happy to join you in this journey.

Your tribe

If you are living for a value and truly living your purpose of existence, it is critical to choose very wisely your team, because you don’t want to have a team who is loyal to you or who believes in you (only) because if you change they will change. Your focus should be on a team who TRULY believe in the company purpose of existence and they are willing to do anything to live its values and to share it with the world. If you and your team are aligned to the purpose of existence all the doors are open for innovation because they don’t depend on you as their leader to initiate any action, they are all leaders, and they all want the same thing you want so they will do anything to achieve it.
